You mean there's a way to have different MAC's assigned to different HME's?  
That's been the bugger with me and these two HME's.

Maybe my setup won't work for this: one card is always being hammered with 
traffic, in promisc mode.  I'm using the U5's second HME as a sniffer port, 
set with no IP address, on the DMZ's hub for our border router/firewall.  
It's being accessed by ntop continuously.  I don't notice dropped 
connections. However, this box isn't on the latest kernel, either -- it's 
still at 2.4.18-1.000sparc.  Up for a very long time.

In a pinch the U5 can act as a NAT box between the DMZ and the LAN if the main 
NAT gateway goes down; that hasn't had to be done as yet.

In any case, I can't duplicate a hangup with the card using repeated nmap's to 
it on the inside address (while ntop was still running on the other 
interface).  To check for dropped connection, I was ssh'd into the box, 
running a ping on an outside box.  But again maybe I'm not accurately 
repeating the test.
