in response to: "http://lists.auroralinux.org/pipermail/aurora-sparc-user/2006-September/004262.html" Hi there, I'm pretty new to Aurora and joined the mailing list last week. I don't know, how to respond online @ lists.auroralinux.org, so i respond per mail: I had pretty much the same problem while installing Aurora on a sunblade 150. I read a post on an Ubuntu forum, where someone tried on of the following: *boot cdrom linux ide=nodma* or : *boot cdrom* and afterwards (at the silo prompt): *linux ide=nodma* I tried the second one and this did work right away. I have been trying all hints I could find on the internet, but this was the first one to solve the Problem. If you haven't installed yet, I can give you one other hint: run the installation in text mode, because your screen can go blank during graphical installation, when it is not supported. Good luck, if you haven't succeeded yet! Benzhi p.s. Can you give a hint how to reply on your message online? _______________________________________________ Aurora-sparc-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.auroralinux.org/mailman/listinfo/aurora-sparc-user Aurora FAQ: http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~mas01r/aurorafaq.html
