15,000 RPM SCSI drive in an Ultra 1

So, I have a pair of Compaq Proliant 36GB scsi drives I'm using in an Ultra 1, mostly because they're 36GB (and were surplus!) and not because they're 15,000 RPM. But I'm surprised that hdparm only reports 7.24 MB/sec.
