I use two of them as webservers for my own personal site, www.pearlgates.net (warning: adult and weird content). They have been running for about two years now without a single problem. Some mention that the U5 has a dodgy DMA controller, but I never noticed anything unusual with it. Maybe I'm just lucky. :-) At $DAYJOB, we still use several of them as controllers for our E10k systems. I can't recall ever having any hardware trouble with them. You can even use one as a desktop system if you're so inclined, but I wouldn't recommend it. But as a server for a small site, it's perfect.
