I just speak for myself in saying the company had some antiquated hardware sitting around (ultra 10s) and I needed some guinea pigs to test scripts on. I didn't want to write them with Solaris just to have to port them to Linux when done, and when I started Aurora was the only "living" Linux Sparc option. I've found it to be extremely stable and very functional. Solaris is inferior anyway!
