Hello, I've got a free Ultra 5 workstation... and I'm just wondering if I can convert it with a fanless approach? - replace the PSU with a fanless ATX PSU (~300W) - remove the case/cpu fan - dont't care about cdrom/floppy drive The goal is to create a quiet storage box (like a NAS). Is it possible? do I need to move the motherboard to a better PC case? Normally the CPU shouldn't max out for only managing files (IO + network), so do I need a fan for the CPU? I've got an old symbios SCSI card (50 pins internal/external connection), don't know the transfer speed and what type of scsi (1, 2 or 3)... what type of drive do you recommend? in point of using scsi 3 disks, am I going to be limited with the PCI bus speed? Regards, Cedric. _______________________________________________ Aurora-sparc-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.auroralinux.org/mailman/listinfo/aurora-sparc-user Aurora FAQ: http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~mas01r/aurorafaq.html
