As it has 96MB , Now if I can just figure out what is causing that memory to over heat . No it's not for lack of air flow . >>> It should be possible to yum update from 2.0 to 2.98, not sure if that >>> will resolve the udev failures or not. >> I thought someone made the following request but I am unable to find >> it . >> Is it possible to 'yum update' from the install media for 2.98 ? > > I'd guess no, if only because the RPMS are distributed across the CDs. > You should be able to copy the RPMS from the CDs into a single > directory, run createrepo on them, and then use that as a local > repository. There is nothing in the FAQ about udev failures or anything about udev for that matter . > I also don't have a SPARCstation LX (I thought I did, but it was only an > IPC). I am doing this for a friend and the install had been quite slow compared even to an ultra I . TnxAgn , JimL -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ | James W.
