The Productivity Commission has just released its draft report into
Australia's intellectual property system.

http://www.pc.gov.au/inquiries/current/intellectual-property#draft

Public submissions to be taken into consideration for the final report
(to be published in August) are due by Friday 3 June.

Of particular note - they recommend abolishing software and business
methods patents, introducing a "fair use" system and working to
significantly shorten the term of copyright.

I notice OSIA and Kim Weatherall, among others, are quoted a few times :)
