Re: LA Certification

Just to throw my 10c into the mix, the WordPress community has gone round
and round with whether to provide "official" certification.

Many of the questions and issues raised here on this list have also been
raised with WP certification, with no good answers or clear path forward.

The discussion was piqued again at the beginning of this year.  Many
quickly pointed out that WordPress is a rapidly evolving ecosphere and that
any certification would likely be outdated.  That may not be the case for
all FOSS projects.

There was also a discussion about whether certification divides the
community unfairly, with those who cannot afford to get certified being
left out or thought of as "less worthy".
