Hi Russell Add per Vik Olliver (RepRap) advice, WD40 is not recommended for anything. It actually bites away a little bit of the surface, so you didn't want to stay it into a lock, and definitely not a computer. Inox is similar but non-destructive, I use that on my 3D printer as a general lubricant. But it's best to find a specific electrical contact cleaner that's also non-destructive.
