Bear in mind that Electron Workshop is run by volunteers, and these days many of them probably don't really use email much at all. It's helpful to explain netiquette, but also important to be quick to praise good work and slow to take public offense at mistakes. A private explanation of best practices (and their history, if you like) might be less discouraging!
