It would seem as though your firewall/NAT box would be the first place to
look.  Since pings and dns queries (both UDP can get through and back),
but not TCP connections *and* you're sitting with an unrouteable IP
address (private class C), it would imply that your filtering rules on the
NAT box/firewall are keeping TCP SYN's from going out or SYN/ACKs coming
back through.

At the very least, you could run tcpdump to see what's going out from the
box and what, if anything, is coming back.

If you could also see what's going in/out on the *other* side of the NAT
box, that would help immensely.

What ethernet card are you using?  What driver?  USB keyboard?
