I tried it on a HP Kayax XM600, PIII 800 MHz PC and it worked
fine with the resoluation at 800x600 and the eepro100
network card.

However, when trying it on an HP Pavilion N3250 Laptop (AMD K6 475) 
800x600, with an Orinoco Silver PCMCIA WLAN card, I was only able to get 
the WLAN card working after:

1) modprobe orinoco
2) /etc/init.d/pcmcia restart
3) ifconfig eth0 up
4) iwconfig eth0 essid MY_ESSID rate auto key MY_KEY
5) /mnt/rw/discs/disc0/part5/sbin/dhcpcd eth0

When I tried using my 3Com 3c59x PCMCIA network card,
I had to do the same sort of thing:

1) modprobe 3c59x
2) /etc/init.d/pcmcia restart
3) ifconfig eth0 up
4) /mnt/rw/discs/disc0/part5/sbin/dhcpcd eth0

In both cases 'trivial-net-setup' did not detect the
cards.

Also, and this is the main reason for this bug report,
is that the dhcpcd included with your distribution
did not work with these PCMCIA cards on my laptop.

In the case of the WLAN card, it returned an error '4'
and in the case of the 3Com card, it did not return anything,
but did not get an address from my DHCP server.

The dhcpcd I used is from Mandrake 9.0.  I tried using
the one from my Debian partition ('part6'), but that
one looks for '/sbin/dhcpcd-bin' and that is not
on your system.  The Mandrake dhcpcd works just fine.

(In both cases (both 3c95x and orinoco cards) the
DHCP server was a RedHat 7.x system.  The HP XM600
used a Windows 2K server as a DHCP server.)

Anyway, I thought you might be interested.

This is a very cool project and I have found the
LNX-BBC disc to work much better that the RedHat
SuperRescue 2.1.2 disc I also tried.  (It would
not work with my WLAN card at all and would not
load X on my laptop -- 'no screens found'.)  It
would not even boot on my HP XM600 workstation!

So, great work, and I easgerly await the public release
of the final LNX-BBC version 2.0.

This package was not passing correct parameters to gcc, specifically,
those related to the CPU.  The problem has been corrected.
