Bugs, errors and the like!

Hi Nick,
              Don't know if you are the person to send this to or not.
Searched many pages at lnx-bbc but each one just added to my frustration.
So, in the end, I just picked a name at random in the hope that if you are
not the right person to receive this you will forward it on my behalf.

I have 2 problems I would like to make you aware of.

1. The official release V2.1 has a serious problem with 'trivial-net-setup'
(I shall refer to it only as tns hereafter).
    It terminates prematurely with a serious error - a program check. The
exact wording of the message received is:

   /bin/trivial-net-setup  : line 495    704 Illegal instruction  2.1
$DHCPCD  -d  "$INTERFACE"

   Of course the net result is that my internet connection is not activated
and I cannot proceed.

Since I could not use the system I decided to try one of the 'Daily builds'
The one I selected was -  BBC STABLE.2003.09.20T17_44_18_0700
Using this, the tns command worked just fine. My connection was enabled.

So, next step, try the browser after starting Xwindow.

I started it the suggested way by Rightclicking on the desktop and using the
internet option to start Mozilla.

There was a rather long delay until eventually an error msg was produced.
The error was in a box and said:

/mnt/media/BBC.HTM could not be found.  I clicked on the "OK" in the box and
Mozilla started as hoped for.

The first error with V2.1 I have no idea how to resolve.
The second error is simple. Since the system does not need the missing file
(it continues without it) then simply
remove the reference to it. i.e. Eliminate the long delay when starting the
browser.

P.S. It's still a damn fine product. I'm using it to get a little bit
familiar with unix. . . .  Oops! Linux
