For the record I'm seeing this problem on an
ECS K7S5A Motherboard with an updated flash bios,
and a Duron 1 Ghz  processor.   I haven't used this hardware for
all that much, so it could well be this motherboard/cpu/SCSI controller.
It has shown up with SCSI and IDE disks and several combinations
thereof. Currently it is happening with only SCSI disks attached.

Thanks for your attention, sorry for the red flag and what now appears
to be a false alarm for you.  I'll get back to you if I see any better
reason to
implicate your stuff.
