Package: lnx-bbc Severity: wishlist Apparently the latest Yamaha CD-RW models have a new ability; they can leave the laser on and do special things after your data is done burning. With the right instructions a "tattoo" which is human-visible can be lased into the non-data portion. This limits the "picture" to the part outside of the data ring, but 50 MB out of 650 or 700 leaves basically, ability to self label a CD :) A review of Yamaha's CRW-F1 in Nov' PC World mentions it, but that the software which comes with it it kind of tweaky. Possibly too new to have Linux efforts, and almost certainly proprietary. But it does raise the general question, shall we offer front-side art for 650 MB or miniround CDs so people can print labels? -* Heather Stern * Starshine Technical Services * [email protected] *-
