When using a Xircom Realport PCMCIA ethernet device, module xirc2ps_cs, with the BBC I experienced frequent loss of the eth0 device.  eth0 would simply disappear.  this did not happen with a 3com pcmcia card using 3c574_cs with identical conditions.
