bug#333: try this

A documentation file I found says

# To get the kernel to start in VESA framebuffer mode, you need to pass it
# a vga= init string at boot time.  For example, if you use LILO you'll
# probably find a vga=normal string in your /etc/lilo.conf.  If you
# edit that to one of the values in this table:
#
#   Colours   640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 1600x1200

So you should try something like

boot: 1 vga=798

and see if you get 1600x1200.  I'm not sure what we should do about
documenting these options on the boot screen -- it's getting pretty
crowded, especially if we take the recent suggestion of adding proper
serial terminal support.
