This feature would be useful, but it would probably be confusing to
novice users, so it shouldn't be the default on released versions.

I'd like to try it out as an option, and people can certainly make
custom versions with this behavior if it works out.  Does that
command-line distinguish between IDE and SCSI hard drives?
