E. P. Scott reports lsattr fails.

It's possible that that's just because he's not using ext2fs; lsattr
is only meaningful on an ext2fs.  Someone should try it on an
ext2fs and see if it actually works there.

As long as you run lsattr on an ext2fs, which is the only filesystem
it's meant to be used with, it works just fine.
