Nick found that there are some packages installing into /var/tmp/build
on the LNX-BBC.  It looks like they are net/w3m and util/syslinux, but
I'm not sure whether there might not be one or two others (gethostip?
dirlist.cgi?).

I also fixed the INSTALL_OVERRIDE_DIRS for syslinux, making it an INSTALL_ARGS
(surely the fiddling with the DESTDIR-equivalent ONE LINE ABOVE should have
been a cue that INSTALL_OVERRIDE_DIRS was the wrong choice!)

If there remains any doubled destdirs, please open a new bug.  I'll merge this
into head in a second.
