Some programs -- texteroids is the only one I can find at the moment,
but I think I recall others -- would like an X server with the DPS
extension.

Here is the error from texteroids:

   Auto-launching DPS NX agent.

    dpsnx.agent

texteroids: DPS is not available.
You need an X server with the DPS extension, or a DPS NX agent.
