severity 364 wishlist thanks With the recently committed changes, it is possible to make this machine boot by doing "prompt" at the SYSLINUX prompt, and telling the system not to start hotplug _and_ not to start discover. Starting either hotplug or discover makes the system hang immediately after loading a USB module. (hotplug and discover both attempt to load this module -- I think it's usb-uhci, and it's the same place the system used to crash in linuxrc when I originally filed this bug.) But the system boots properly if we bypass the USB module entirely. After boot, the mouse doesn't work at all, with either XFree86 or gpm -m /dev/psaux. Networking does work, and X starts (but can't be used because of the lack of mouse support). -- Seth David Schoen <[email protected]> | Very frankly, I am opposed to people http://www.loyalty.org/~schoen/ | being programmed by others. http://vitanuova.loyalty.org/ | -- Fred Rogers (1928-2003), | 464 U.S. 417, 445 (1984)
