I tried out lnx-bbc-i386-2004-01-03T12:01:49-0600.iso The rir option worked worked fine on: IBM Thinkpad X21 with 384M IBM Thinkpad A21P with 512M IBM Thinkpad T30 with 256M Fujitsu Lifebook P2110 with 512M all notebooks. I was also able to setup the ethernet on the Thinkpads. On the Fujitsu, a Realtek RTL-8139/8139c/8139c+ (rev 10) was detected, but no module was available for it. The installed Redhat 9.0 and Knoppix 3.3 (which work) use 8139too It is notable that lnx-bbc-i386-2004-01-03T12:01:49-0600 is able to boot on the Fujitsu, as LNX-BBC 2.1 hangs. This is probably because of the well know idebus problem with the Fujitsu P series, fixed with ide0=ata66 ide1=ata66 on various linux distributions. (I used them with Redhat 7.3) Redhat 8 and 9 installed with no boot options required. I tried idebus=66 with lnx-bbc 2.1, but it still hangs. Knoppix 3.1 also hangs. lnx-bbc-i386-2004-01-03T12:01:49-0600 boots on the Fujitsu with no boot options required. -- John P. Serafin jps at pobox com
