I meant bleeding edge as in me foolishly using a distro that is on the
latest 2.6 kernel and the latest GCC :-)

Other than phoenix, the only other problem was that the upstream
archive of mc-4.5.55 seems to be corrupt (I tried re-downloading a
couple of times).
