I've just merged the results of my gar-extraction branch into the research branch. Some notes: - GARDIR is now $(GARTOP)/gar and GARTOP is ../.. - The core GAR files are separated from the LNX-BBC stuff that sets up GAR to work in this tree - It is no longer necessary to set any DESTDIRs or prefixes in the environment, although GAR will still honor your legacy settings. - GAR has a nascent "USE" variable - GAR now includes by default a set of standard DESTIMGs. They are: - native (DESTDIR = /, prefix = /usr) - native_home (DESTDIR = /, prefix = $(HOME)) - native_local (DESTDIR = /, prefix = /usr/local) - build (same as before, less the requirement to set build_prefix) - main (same as before, less the requirement to set main_DESTDIR) - GAR uses GNU autoconf's config.guess to set GARBUILD Unresolved issues: - gar.bugs.mk - Creation of separate arch project for GAR - Automation of tla build-config in LNX-BBC's gar.mk I don't really know how or where GAR should be hosted as an independent project. I'll just note for now that the domain gargargar.org was available last time I checked. -Nate -- --< ((\))< >----< [email protected] >----< http://www.movealong.org/ >-- pub 1024D/05A058E0 2002-03-07 Nate Riffe (06-Mar-2002) <[email protected]> Key fingerprint = 0DAC F5CB D182 3165 D757 C466 CD42 12A8 05A0 58E0
