Run levels...

I have not been able to use the LNX-BBC web page very reliably  yesterday and 
today so I have not been able to search to see if the answer to this is 
there...

I am not familiar with the way runlevels are handled with LNX-BBC. I am used 
to run levels 0 - 6 but LNX-BBC does not seem to work the same way. Can 
someone point me to a document that explains how this works? For now, I am 
interested in putting a "clear" statement as the last thing before the login 
prompt message... I also would like to edit the message if someone would be 
nice enough to point me to the file.
