Hi

I hope someone had experienced similar problem or otherwise can help me
here.

When I boot the PC system (Celeron 366MHz,196MB RAM, Trio3D/2x) with
LNX-BBC 2.1 it get hangs up during the boot stage. There were reported
message just before this problem happened. However, this problem did not
occur for LNX-BBC 1.6 version on this system.

The following reported messages:

[sniped message]
Mount /proc
Trying to mount LNX media
Unpacking modules
Trying to mount /dev/cdroms/cdrom0
VFS: Can't find ext2 file system on dev ide1 (22,0)
hdc: timeout waiting for DMA
ide_dmaproc: chipset supported ide_dma_timeout func only: 14

The bring the system to normal state, it had to be restarted through
cold-boot way.

regards
SK Lim

PS. I had used the kernel parameter "gentoo dma=no" at boot prompt to
get Gentoo 1.4-rc4 working on the above PC system.
