Apologies for the bogus lnx-bbc-announce post. I didn't check
my headers.
Since we didn't get a proper announcement out sooner, I
suppose this is as good a time as any to let you folks know that 2.1
is finished and burned and we have CDs now. They're really beautiful,
thanks to label art by the Rev. Patty Morin. You can see a sample of
the label art as well as download an ISO (via HTTP or BitTorrent) at:
http://lnx-bbc.org/download.html
Also, if you're going to be at LinuxWorld Expo in San
Francisco this August, we'll be handing out LNX-BBCs there!
New features in 2.1:
* 2.4.19 kernel
* large IDE disk support
* more fonts
* more DHCP clients
* bittorrent
o bittorrent downloads of ISOs from the Web site
o bittorrent clients on the BBC
* coroner's toolkit
* security upgrades
o openssh
o openssl
* new upstream versions of many software packages
and last but not least...
