It's a bit more lightweight than KDE. type F2 at the knoppix boot: prompt to see a bunch of the cheat codes. > I do not get a chance to surf around that much nor down load and burn > Linux iso's > > But I would very much like to ask the group, i.e.: "this list" what are some of > the better > > Linux live CD / distributions? or at least the one you like? We like lnx-bbc but then, we may be biased... and lnx-bbc is not aimed for newbies. SuSE has only recently re-released a liveCD distro but I haven't tried that; their 7.1 liveCD was ok. As for "older systems" though, I don't know of *any* live CD that is assuming you don't have modern desktop workstation material to work with. There are distros that do, esp the K-12 ones, but not liveCDs. The closest would be to build a low-end setup yourself, then use one of the live-CD building packages to make a live environment out of it. At this point you are definitely into the realm of people who can appreciate the lnx-bbc anyway. Make sure your /dev/mouse is a symlink to the place your mouse is really attached to, type 'starts' and play with the few X apps we have. > I have seen some of the derivatives on web sites from Russia and Poland > > but have not tried them. Other than leading to me not reading it for so long... hope it's interesting, and keep an eye on lnx-bbc anyways. . | .
