I am in the process of using LNX-BBC linux as a host for bootstrapping Gentoo linux. On my ancient (1998) dual CPU, all-SCSI system, it was impossible for me to boot from the Gentoo CD. I tried several distros before finding two that would work. LNX-BBC was one of those, and although I couldn't boot from the CD, making a boot floppy was simple enough. I was blown away by the hardware detection of LNX-BBC. It found every partition on my three hard drives and auto-mounted most of them, including NTFS, HPFS, FAT32 and JFS. The other distribution which would let me boot was DamnSmallLinux but that didn't have the file system support and range of system administration tools provided by LNX-BBC. I've been in the computing industry for a long time now and I am getting old and cynical. It takes a fair bit to impress me. I am seriously impressed. -- Jon Saxton <[email protected]> Developer of cross-platform software for UNIX, Windows and OS/2 U.S. agent for Triton Technologies International Ltd http://www.triton.vg/
