	Okay, so here's my memory: 

	Early Linuxcare BBCs (hereafter referred to as just "BBC")
were customizations of tomsrtbt hacked up for el-torito boot on a 50MB
iso.  

	Seeing the need for space, Paul "Rusty" Russel (who was a
Linuxcare employee at the time) wrote cloop to make more space
available to the BBC.  It was submitted to be included in the main
kernel, but Linus did a typical sort of NIH reimplementation that the
BBC folks decided wasn't good enough.  The BBC continued to use
Rusty's cloop.

	Klaus Knopper took over cloop maintenance, roughly
concurrently with his creation of the knoppix project.  I believe the
BBCs used Knopper's cloops after Rusty stopped working on it. At any
rate, the LNX-BBC project uses Klaus's cloop releases (and if you run
your GAR tree, you'll see that the cloop package downloads from
knopper.net!).
