First of all, sorry for replying on top instead of the bottom of the message.  Yahoo won't let me do it any other way.  (I've heard it's not proper).  Anyhow, I am not an expert but don't know of a way of installing it to your hard drive.  If no one else knows, and you want a small distro, check out peanutlinux.  There is also Vector Linux.  I can't remember what Peanut Linux is based off of, but Vector is a form of Slackware.  Both are small in footprint, and pretty good.
