Instructions on using the chroot (and on obtaining the chroot environment) are here: http://lnx-bbc.org/chroot.html After you add your user (per the instructions) and bind your directories, you may want to: 1) edit resolv.conf to suit your locality 2) edit /etc/apt/sources.conf to reflect a more local mirror, then 3) run "apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade" After that, you should be ready to build.
