There are several other minimalist Linux BBC's to note, besides LNX-BBC and=
 Knoppix, that can also be installed to IDE-hdd's.  Here are some:

1) DamnSmallLinux, http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/
Debian-based, but IMHO, probably your best bet for quick IDE-hdd test insta=
lls onto computing clusters w/o the extra baggage Knoppix brings.

2) Slax, http://slax.linux-live.org/
>From http://slax.linux-live.org/download.php, the SLAX rescue version 4.2.0=
 is supposed to be "coming soon", it weighs in at approximately 32MB, and i=
s described as "SLAX without Xwindow, just console Linux" (similar to LNX-B=
BC?)

3) AmigoLinux, http://amigolinux.org/download/index.htm
The 32MB and 40MB -Slackware minimal install options (No Xwindows) are elab=
orated upon at http://amigolinux.org/docs/minstall/index.htm.
Does require an hdd FAT-partition and a boot-disk, though (A real BBC somet=
ime soon ??)=20=20
