Paul, thanks. However, when I try to
    cp myfile1.txt myfile2.txt
I get
cp: cannot create regular file 'myfile2.txt': Read-only file system

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave

The message can be ignored for the most part. The remount should have been
