Concurrent bt usages?

So, I just discvered hidd and the fact that my two cellphones can act as 
keyboards. Neat!

However, they can only to so one at a time. :-( Why is that?

The reason I started fiddling with bluetooth (this time) was that I want to 
set up a "base station" to:

1) Continuously monitor which bt devices are in range (el cheapo surveillance 
system)
2) Allow friends to upload photos from their phones when wisiting
3) Use a (any) phone as remote to contol a media center.

Is it possible to do all this at the same time, or should I read the above 
hidd experience as a at-most-one-thing-at-a-time-mate indication? If so, 
what's the best approach to a "time sharing" system for my one bt dongle?
