It depends about the "previous" meaning (Rob Landley era or Denys
Vlasenko era), about the second I think that the peak of interaction

And it is NOT about development planning but contributes integration.
Unless, Tito confuses "development" with "maintenance" or
"maintenance" with "integration".

The skills that Tito showed in coding doesn't automatically qualify
him as a project manager (or project whatever if "manager" is a
"wrong" word to use here).

Nothing bad, I am not criticising the maintainers. I am pointing out
that the "consensus drive community" is an abusive political hoax/scam
that never - never - had to do with open source or software libre as
well as organised and panelled conferences. And I am certain about
this because we were doing pretty differently before 2007/8 despite
many of us having a very good (relatively) paid job despite the 2001
dot-com bubble burst.

- When the "manager" as responsible and accountable role is replaced
by "leadership"

- When the "freedom" of acting upon themselves, is replaced with
"being useful for a community"

- When the "hacking as life style" is replaced by "community" like a
labet to stick and divide-et-impera the society

When all of this is planned and enforced with any means, then it is
easy to accumulate 20-25 years of technical debt. Read again above
"many of us had a relatively good paid job even after the dot-com
bubble burst". The idea that hackers were doomed incels totally
incapable of appealing a girl/woman is a false construction. We were
able to earn more than a university professor in full charge before
even passing the first year exams.

Like many today billionaires in Silicon Valley that they start-up even
before finishing college. Because we were simply too smart to study
and we were hacking because we were too smart to follow the manual.
The current bouch of underdogs that require someone that supports
their fake identities by patting them on the shoulder while they work
like slaves NEVER had anything to do with people that "a no from a big
tech" was the beginning of a sort of revolution.

The Tanenbaum NO was the Linus start. The HP print support NO was the
Stallman start. And so on, everyone of us that received a NO, started
a sort of revolution rather than bend on our knees. The current
"hackers" are in fact born male that physically cut their male
attributes to complain about the trends of society/politics. All this
"stuff" never, NEVER, had to do with hacking/hackers. We never, NEVER,
had in mind to create a moral standard.

Whoever claims differently has a short memory or a part of this madful
derive. And this madness started in France, when an early bootline (at
that time free electrons) initiated to support that a hacker should
belong to a certain political area and "be a good boy" and their
leader should be "saints". Wrong, we have always been "such bad ass
boys that start a revolution" because someone told us a NO that we are
not going to accept.

Recall yourself WHO you were, at least before disappear into the void
and western civilisation fall.
