Hadn't been that many messages to list, but Guess I should have
clarified.

The 1.38.0 git has had 4.18 patches to the code since the 1.37.0
release.
git log --pretty=format:"<%h> %cd [%an] %s" --date=short | head
-n 420 | tail -n 2

Lines 419 and 420
<a023f3926> 2024-09-26 [Denys Vlasenko] Start 1.38.0 development
cycle
<be7d1b7b1> 2024-09-26 [Denys Vlasenko] Bump version to 1.37.0

So, looked at the 418 lines that have patches. sorted by data after
the ] and the colon (seemed to be best option of most patches)
used uniq and sort -n to get the final list.

Perhaps none of these updates meet the justification of a release of
1.38 git? but 418 patches seems like a lot, and some areas have a
lot.

My project doesn't use many of the very high ones at all, but a
number of them are in my build.

Comparison of builds with my same config file.
468376 May 11 16:48 /data2/busybox-1.37
472456 May 11 16:48 /data2/busybox-1.38

Difference is about 1%, but 1.38 has the 418 patches, and is build
on very recent code. The 1.37 is build on source going back to
September 2024??

Again, sorry for not clearifying.
Seems some say 1.37 is the only official release, and seem to say it
should be used as is until 1.38 is officially released.
The git log only seems to the one patch that was listed with CVE.
Think some of these patches address CVE issues.
Perhaps there is something that determines if the patches are
cosmetic, minor, important, or security.

Thanks fro the reply.
At moment snapshot directory has 33 files, but fall into 5 groups of
different files.
