It depends on your application.   One of the main applications I run on a large OM cluster is programmed using a combination of Java, C, and C++, to the best of my knowledge.  I have the Cluster with dual Xeon CPU motherboards, running OM-2.4.26-1, with both SMP and hyperthreading enabled.  

Under that configuration, each hyperthreaded cpu shows up on the mosmon list (4 cpu's per node).  When I run multiple instances of this application program, with the Java 1.3.1 Green Threads libraries, each instance of the program migrates and runs on a single hyperthreaded cpu.  It works pretty well.  The main requirement is that the Java software be able to use the 1.3.1 java with Green Threads libraries.

Hi Vincent

Thanks for your help. Everything seems to compile fine now. I was 
wondering... if you disable SMP does this mean linux applications will 
be unable to take advantage of the dual core processors. Seems like a 
waste of good hardware. What are the likely consequences if SMP is 
enabled - will the cluster nodes lockup at some point? Also, when you 
expect openmosix 2.6 kernel code to support SMP?
