Hello!
Here is an alpha version of user area tools for 2.6.
http://www.orcero.org/irbis/openmosix/userland.html
THIS VERSION IS INTEED TO 2.6 DEVELOPERS. IF YOU USE 2.4 KERNELS, PLEASE
STAY WITH THE OFFICIAL that can be downloaded from oM official site.
This version is intended to take feedback of the oM developers.
I am working on this version, and I will continue working on it, so do
not worry if there is some things does not work.
The philosophy has been to take an old, stable version of userland tools
and to modify the moslib library to allow a transparent migration to 2.4
clusters to 2.6 clusters in the future, and to allow to the cluster
sysadms to use their administration scripts on new 2.6 clusters.
The most of the documentation, the scripts and the know-how will stay
similar.
I do know that 2.4 clusters will stay a long time; that is why I think
that compatibility is important. This will allow developers, system
administrators and documentators not to maintain two differents code
lines.
If your patch/feature is not included in these tools, do not worry (yet),
because this means nothing. As far as the basic functionality works, the
patchs will be added.
The development will continue slow (I am making this on my little free
time); but at a constant rithm. It is expected to have all working (with
node registering, cluster management and migration) for summer.
Yours:
David Santo Orcero
