Re: om2.6 What's currently showable ?

It can be segregated with pragmas but that only makes the code management
more difficult. By the way, we already have a few shared memory patches
available. 

For true sharing, it is very easy to say why an app will not run well on a
shared mem model. For false sharing it's very hard to say. In the end, the
user will have to find out on her own if it's worthwhile using shared mem or
not for her app.

That sounds great as long as everybody understands how and why it kills
performance so that we can judge for ourselves if individual apps will be
affected. Is it possible to keep these parts of the code between #ifdef and
#endif so it can be enabled or disabled at compile time?
