1,  While completed the Itanium was rather disappointing.  The 64-bit AMD project was ended.

2.  Programs interrupted, say by a power outage, on any node will detrimentally affect all processes running on that node.  There is a way to checkpoint processes, see the CHeckPOinting linuX link on http://openmosix.sourceforge.net/.  

3.  LTSP + openMosix is a big subject.  See the several links on http://openmosix.sourceforge.net/community.html 

Try one of the Instant Clusters http://openmosix.sourceforge.net/instant_openmosix_clusters.html, perhaps the popular Quantian which provides several ways to have a cluster doing useful work for you.

Please submit future questions to the openMosix General List instead of the Developers List.  You'll get better responses there.

so the mixed acrh maybe would be slick, but openmosix only supports IA32 for
now.
