I feel this is a relatively simple question but i have so far been unable to find reliable information concerning this. I currently run a small cluster of openmosix machines (over 100Mb network, single intel processors). We are about to add additional machines to the cluster but I am not sure of the performance benefits of intels dual-core quad-core offerings in regards to Openmosix. Are there any reason to not go with dual/quad core machines? Would I most likely have better performance running a bunch of single core intels? Are there well known problems that may arise? I read on a misc. message board that disabling SMP is recommended which would render upgrading to dual/quad core pointless. Any information concerning this issue would be appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
