 Perhaps, but remember the upstream kerenl really dictates that. /as
stated on the kernel.org list gcc2.95.4 is just faster compiler and a
bit more forgiving thatn the 4.x line. When 4.x is has finally matured
out teh bottle necks out it will be much better but right now it is a
very slowcompiler by comparision This is the main reason it is still
the prefered compiler for alot of the kernel developers. That said
there is work being done to inprove the reliabilty of teh kernel
compiles on the newest gcc. gcc-3.4 is now considered to be "okay".
