I guess it's a bad combination of kernel sources and compiler, gcc-3
does no longer support many things of the old-style programming, use
gcc-2.95 or use a newer kernel (why not 2.4.26 with the latest stable oM
patch?).
You could try to fix it manually, but I suggest you to choose one of the
two options above.
