Joel, your objective is not clear to me.  You said you wanted to see many migrations with a real-world application, but what is the point of having the cluster migrate unnecessarily?  Are you just wanting to observe the migrations?

There are some just for fun applications that will make the processes on the cluster "dance" from one processor to the next by design.  I think no one would call that a real-world application.  It can be quite entertaining for a little while, but most users really want to minimize migrations that do not contribute to quickly getting results.  

Matt has given us several applications that force migrations.  The openMosix Stress-Test will certainly force many migrations.  If you want to participate, try his just for fun openMosixblaster.

The openMosix Community page has a number of applications that will heavily load your cluster.
