What is this /lib/i686 directory? It has to be something distribution
specific. We use Gentoo and have no such directory.

We run a 2.4.26 kernel and constantly have problems with segmentation
faults. These occur when a program using pthreads migrates, so a
workaround is to lock (e.g. mosrun -4 some_command) a process to a
particular node.
