  Let me know what else you're after, there are a few other 
files floating here.  I am hoping to put the matching CHAOS-1.5.iso
online soon.  Ty is helping me with some of the older files.

  I have been out of touch for a while - there are about 30 or 40
messages from this list that I haven't read yet.

  Its been about a month and a bit since I last coded anything,
and libMidnightCode is holding up some of the CHAOS-1.7 work. 
However, I've started Project Saturn (NAS system) which will help
to kick-start some of the missing pieces in libMidnightCode .. one
example is that I got CHAOS-1.6 to boot via USB last week (finally! -
only been trying since CHAOS-0.7).

  The key (pardon the punn) to this seems to be to keep the USB
key FS as a FAT16 - using syslinux to boot the kernel and file-
system image.  Very easy to do from a CHAOS ISO - just rename 
the isolinux.cfg, and tweak it such that the files are all in the root 
directory - then put the kernel and filesystem (and memtest) in the
root directory of the key.  Unmount the key and "syslinux /dev/sda1".
's'easy.  As with the ISO, the USB key is removable because 
CHAOS runs from RAM (though there is one error from INIT 
because CHAOS can't find a CDROM drive with media in it to 
eject).

  I'm looking at changing jobs again in the near future - seems that
there has been some hard vendor bullying in the upper echelons
here, which is starting to create technology decisions based on 
"cause he said so" that ultimately doesn't fit the client's architecture;
not good for the client, not good for the client architecture, and 
certainly not good for client security.
  This may upset my programming schedules in the coming month
or four, until stability pans out anyway.

  In the mean time, my primary focus for CHAOS-1.7 is to update
it (package and kernel versions where possible) and to get as much
code up to scratch as possible.  Most of INIT can be replaced by 
code in libMidnightCode, but there is still a way to go with IPTables
and IPSEC for Tyd.

  I will only stay with stable versions of openMosix - so at this
stage CHAOS-1.7 will probbably be Kernel 2.4 ...


  Hope that this info helps to provide an overview of where 
CHAOS and I are at.  Happy to take input from interested parties.
