Unless I misunderstand, this means you're not booting via PXE over the
network.  Which probably means that do not have the right network card
selected in the optnmosixterminalserver setup as that is the single biggest
point of failure.

Yes, try to get another computer with a known and trusted nic to boot off the
openmosixterminalserver so that you get a better feeling for the
process. Then try to find the proper NIC for your main machine.

The clusterKnoppix site has a an old but still valid tutorial on
terminalserver booting with openmosix that I find very helpful.
